Fall Apple Squeeze 06

For the past couple years, the Lenox Apple Squeeze has started to become a tradition. There is nothing quite like fall in New England, and the Apple Squeeze truly embodies all the best things: caramel apples, apple pie, cider (and cider doughnuts!) to name a few. There are so many treats to be had and so many vendors to visit. This event has introduced me to some of my favorite local vendors as well, including Grass Hill Alpacas (the best and warmest winter essentials – more on that later), and I love supporting local businesses, especially when they’re doing something really interesting.

Given that this event is always the last weekend in September, I never quite know if that means the weather will be hot or cool. Last year, it was unseasonably hot for the Apple Squeeze, and the last thing any of us wanted was warm cider or hot chili. Ice cold lemonade was the most popular commodity that year. This year, however, I knew I could play it safe by layering. For me, the autumn months are all about layering. I love the cozy feeling of having extra clothes on, and it often makes me feel more put together. Plus, knowing I have layers to take off if the late afternoon sun does start to heat up makes me much more comfortable.

Sweater: cable knit cocoon sweater

Happy apple season! Has anyone gone apple picking yet?

Such a nice post. Seems like a nice event to go to. I’d collect as many apples as I can and make a nice English apple pie or crumble. Lovely outfit by the way. 🙂
