Tie neck blouse: (old from LOFT, similar style here, here and here; printed version here) // Ponte knit skirt: Old Navy // Tote: Tory Burch // Pumps: Cole Haan // Sunglasses: Warby Parker // Lips: Nars in Heat Wave // Tights: J.Crew

Pulling together cute, comfortable and professional outfits five days a week, week after week, can become frustrating from time to time. I’m not saying I have any shortage of clothes, but I do tend to get tired of my wardrobe when it is in need of an update. Usually this happens at the turn of each season before I’ve invested in any new pieces for the upcoming change in weather.

Some mornings just don’t go as planned (I think we can all agree?!), and even though I might have liked to have my outfit (and lunch) prepared the night before, it just isn’t always realistic. One thing that makes getting ready in the morning simpler is knowing that I have plenty of the staples I need to pull together an easy business casual outfit. I have lots of blouses, skirts and tights in neutral colors like black, white, navy, and nudes that make the whole process much easier as well.

I love that this tie neck blouse is fun and playful but also generally conservative for work. Having some simple, yet stylish blouses at hand to pair with basic skirts like this one can make you feel confident and pulled together – without too much worry!

What are your favorite wardrobe staples?
