Who has ever had a wardrobe malfunction? Even just a minor one? I know I can’t be the only one! Maybe a top or dress buckles out in the wrong way revealing something you definitely would rather not! Or maybe you stepped on your dress hem and ripped it. Whatever it is, I’m sharing a few ways to be prepared with my favorite wardrobe solutions!

My absolute favorite and most used products are the Scotch™ Essentials Wardrobe Tape Strips. Since I love fashion and I like to cover lots of different styles here on The Lilac Press, I am often showcasing dresses of all different cuts that haven’t been tailor fitted to my body and sometimes skin can show where I might not want it to show! I find that sometimes dresses might buckle out in the chest area, and wardrobe tape can be a complete savior in a pinch. The white midi dress pictured above (and also seen here and here) is one of my most comfortable and easy dresses of the season, especially since it is so loose fitting. Unfortunately, the neckline can leave me exposed, so I just used two pieces of wardrobe tape, and well…problem solved!

The little carrying case that the Scotch wardrobe strips come in is ideal for tossing in a purse or clutch before heading out for the day or evening. You just never know when you might need some tape. Quite frankly, wardrobe tape is the solution to so many wardrobe problems. My mom even uses it to tape her feet into her heels so they don’t slip out!

Before leaving the house, be sure to always do a quick check for any extraneous lint or hair that may be stuck to your outfit. As someone with long hair, I shed, so I do find my hair stuck to my dresses or sweaters quite often. Anyone with shedding pets? Be sure to do a quick once over with a lint roller like the Scotch-Brite™ Lint Roller. A lint roller is also a travel essential, don’t forget to pack one of these for your next trip!

The last wardrobe solution I’m sharing today is another good one. I can be a total klutz, and I have definitely stepped on the hem of a dress before and ripped it! Can you imagine that happening this summer at a wedding? Anyone would be self conscious and uncomfortable the entire night – but luckily, Scotch™ Essentials Adjustable Hem Tape can quickly and easily save the day!

In fact, just the other day at Target (when I stopped in for one thing and left with WAY too many fun little goodies…), I was actually crouching down to look at some cards on the bottom shelf while wearing a longer, midi length dress. I didn’t realize at the time, but I was stepping on the hem, so when I stood up – yes, you guessed it – riiip! It was pretty minor since I was just wearing flats with the dress and not heels, so it was easily fixable with Scotch™ Essentials Permanent Hem Bonding Strips. The best part about the strips is that they do provide a permanent fix – you can even wash and dry clothes afterward. If you don’t want a permanent fix,Scotch™ Essentials Adjustable Hem Tape is a great option if you are out and about and just need a temporary fix that you can adjust later!

That trip to Target I just mentioned…well while I was roaming around, I stumbled across these Scotch Essentials products in the closet section by the sewing machines and kits. They are a little bit hidden, but if you’ve found the sewing section, you can be sure they are not too far away (pictured above).

Hem tape?? I didn’t even know that existed! I can’t tell you the number of time I’ve been in need of a quick fix while out. P.S. Love the dress 🙂

Double sided tape also works so well if you don’t have specific tape for clothing! It also doesn’t ruin your clothes 🙂

That is a great tip! I love these wardrobe tape strips, especially because they come in a convenient little case. Double sided tape is a great back up too!
