Let’s face it, it takes New England a loooong time to recover from winter! Snow in April? I wish I could act like I’m shocked, but the truth is that even though we pretend spring is here, we actually have at least another month to go. Anyway, while temperatures refuse to rise, we are stuck here wearing dresses and letting our legs freeze. Well, that last part is optional, but I personally refuse to wear tights any longer.

This past weekend, I went through a major closet purge. Winter wear is so bulky, so I packed up most of my heavy sweaters and wool skirts and thick tights to put in storage until next year.

For now, I’m opting for lights and brights, prints and patterns. One easy way to add a special pop of color to an otherwise subdued outfit is with a simple neckerchief! J.Crew Factory has tons of affordable options, and it is so easy to add a little something extra for every look.

I am so beyond ready for beach days that consist of sweating in the sun, greasy sunscreen and warm breezes – not blistering cold gusts!

Happy “Spring!”

I need to do a closet purge, too! I have always wanted to wear a neckerchief but never thought I could pull it off… maybe I’ll try it this spring!
