Snow Day in the Berkshires

Snow Day Paradise

There is something to be said about a fresh snowfall. The quiet that follows a snow storm is like no other. One of my favorite times to go out exploring or for a walk outside is in morning after a big storm. The leaves aren’t rustling, and the birds aren’t chirping; it is just pure silence. You can just be alone with your own thoughts. Plus, I love to be all bundled up and protected from the elements. A cozy sweater and a pair of thick socks go a long way in ensuring warmth.

After the most recent snowstorm, I was so excited to throw on my boots and play. Too old to play in the snow? I don’t think so! You can bet we threw lots of snowballs at each other (and someone may have even fallen gotten pushed into a snow bank or two)! All in all, it was just like the snow days I remember from my childhood of playing outside with my siblings and neighbors.

Cozy Sweaters & Puffy Coats

This puffer coat is a lifesaver…quite literally. Growing up in bitter northeast winters, I have most certainly owned my fair share of winter coats. Everything from ski coats to down jackets to knee length parkas have graced my closets, but this down parka by The North Face is by far the warmest. For a while, I had been wanting a Canada Goose coat since I knew I needed the best coat for shielding against the windy and frigid winter days walking around the city. However, last Christmas, I got the parka I’m wearing in these photos, and I’m obsessed! Frankly, I’ve never felt cold while wearing it! Well…maybe my fingers and toes have felt the freeze – but definitely not my core!
