Pumpkin Spice Punch

For a recent girls’ night that my roommates and I hosted, I wanted to make something really festive that everyone could enjoy. Since October is the season of pumpkin everything, I thought it was a good time to attempt a pumpkin punch. I found this recipe online from HGTV and decided to try it out. I followed the recipe closely for the first batch, but for the second batch (because it was such a hit!!), I altered it a bit. I personally don’t like my cocktails too strong or too sweet, so the following ratios make the perfect mixture for me:

1 apple, thinly sliced
1 pear, thinly sliced
1 orange, sliced
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/8 cup honey
1/8 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup bourbon
3 cups apple cider
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 bottle pinot grigio, chilled

Slice all the fruit, coat with lemon juice and place in a pitcher or bowl. Add the honey, brown sugar, bourbon, cider and spice. Let the mixture chill covered in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Then, top with wine, mix and serve.

Everyone loved it! I will absolutely be making this one again.
