If you’re a girly girl who loves feminine dresses and floral patterns, you might find it hard to wear edgier fashions. I surely fell into this camp, but recently I’ve decided to let myself be free to dress however I feel. I’ve always loved the look of leather jackets, but thought that I could never wear one! I’m a girly girl through and through, so I’ve found a few ways to make edgier styles work for me.
First of all, I like to keep my other accessories feminine. These pom pom mules are the perfect statement piece to add a sense of whimsy. I just think they are so romantic in an understated, yet bold sort of way. Any feminine flat or heel would work great with a leather jacket to balance out that edginess with a bit of feminine flair.
I also like to keep the rest of the color palette neutral, with a slight pop of a bright color. Of course, in this case, I went for a simple pink pocket tee, but it brightened up the overall look. I wanted to avoid to look being too dark, for fear of it looking drab, so the pop of pink added just what I needed.
Lastly, matching the outfit with a chic pair of sunnies and a simple handbag is never a bad idea! I think this leather jacket is going to be a great transition piece to get me through until the weather warms up for good.
