Practical Winter Fashion with O Bag Boston

Lifestyle and fashion blogger Leigha Gardner on Newbury Street sharing what she loves about O Bag Boston in the wintertime, a customizable practical handbag line.

Durable Winter Fashion

Living in New England, we are quite familiar with the dirt and grime that overtake the city during the late winter months. The leftover snow turns a gritty gray brown and the wet days ahead are sure to leave our coats and boots and other outerwear ready for a good washing! Don’t let your precious handbag fall victim to the dirty city grime! With O bag, you can choose a durable and resilient material that will wipe clean in a cinch.

I’ve definitely been splattered by a car driving too fast through a puddle, and it can be a total day ruiner, especially when you’re on your way to work. Then, you have to spend the rest of the day with dirty street water splattered all over your clothes. The worst, though, is when your handbag gets ruined! Sometimes handbag materials like leather can be tricky to clean, but if you carry O bag, that’s not a problem. I’ve started using my favorite O bag on a day-to-day basis because its waterproof, and I can feel good knowing it won’t get ruined. Plus, with all the snow starting to melt, I feel like there is just dirty snow runoff dripping everywhere – ew!

A History of O Bag

O bag originated in Italy in 2009 as a unique concept with the intention of creating a customizable product line. The sleek and sophisticated bags are made from a soft, hypo-allergenic, BPA-free, EVA (a silicon-like elastomeric polymer). Once you pick your bag shape and color, you have a variety of handles, linings, and accessories to choose from to make it your own! Switch out your handles based on your mood! (You might’ve seen on my Insta-stories recently, but I showed how I swapped the accessories for my white O bag to take it from summer to winter).

After becoming a sensation in Europe, O bag came to Boston last summer! Next time your find yourself bopping down Newbury Street, you’ll have to stop in! (P.S. you might’ve seen my post about the store opening here.)

Art Week Boston

O bag allows you to express your creative side by playing with colors and textures to build a piece that is truly unique. O bag Boston will be featured during Art Week Boston this coming April, and I will be onsite to help guests pick out their own custom O bag that not only suits their practical needs, but also speaks to their creative side. I’ll be helping each guest build their very own wearable work of art. Don’t forget to save the date (April 29th) and reserve your spot by registering here (registration is free, but space is limited). I hope to see some of you there!

Who else has popped into O bag Boston? What do you think?

I usually dont like these bags, cos they are open. Yours, though, looks safe and secure and I straight away love it 😀
