New York Fashion Week…what a whirlwind. This was the first year I had the opportunity to attend a few events during this weeklong presentation of the newest season’s creations. What an experience! So many things were not as I expected though…would you guys be interested in hearing more about things I liked/didn’t like about the week?
Not sure quite what to expect from the week, or in my case, long weekend, I teamed up with my favorite Boston boutique Gretta Luxe to put together a few looks. Naturally, after booking my travel plans and accommodations, my biggest problem was … what to wear?!
I’ve long been a fan of the Austrailian designer, Zimmermann’s feminine and whimsical nature, so this blouse jumped right out at me. The lovely ladies over at Gretta Luxe helped me pair it with an edgy pair of distressed denim. If you’ve been following along for a while now, you are probably well aware of my love/hate and ever-evolving relationship with denim. As of now, I’m vibing with the distressed denim look. Besides, it was New York Fashion Week, and I wanted to intermix some of my girly, feminine style with some of that New York edginess. The Gretta Luxe ladies produced the perfect pair of L’Agence denim and encouraged me to wear a masculine loafer too to counterbalance the flirty, frilly nature of the blouse.
Shout out to the GL ladies for pushing me out of my comfort zone! You can reap the benefits of their fabulous taste by shopping their curated selection of goods online here.
If you’ve been following along with any fashion bloggers during NYFW, you’ve probably seen this pink wall! rewardStyle has been putting these fun walls (for photo backdrops, of course) up in big cities around the country to promote their Instagram shopping service, LIKEtoKNOW.it. Naturally, I had to stop and take a few photos after spending the morning with the rS team.
Thank you rS team for the delicious bellinis and creating my dream floral curtain wall. Naturally, a selfie was in order.
Who else went to New York Fashion Week this year? Did you have a blast? What did you wear?
