Who does love stripes? They are most definitely on trend right now, but at the same time, have they ever really not been in vogue? I love this little striped tee because of the “amour” embroidered on the chest; it just adds a unique and tasteful touch that makes this striped tee stand out from all the rest.

For me, navy stripes are reminiscent of summer weekends, boating on Cape Cod and seaside adventures. The embroidered “amour” detail takes me back to the summer I spent abroad in France studying French language and culture. For a casual Saturday afternoon, the shirt is perfect with jeans (like this frayed pair), but can easily be dressed up as well.

To make this look feel a little more put together, I added a silk neck scarf and a dressy pair of statement shoes. Of course, I had to finish off the look with my favorite Chanel sunnies and a classic red lip.

Side note: I know some people steer clear of horizontal stripes because they think it makes them look wide, but personally, I don’t buy into that theory. I think stripes are a classic style that will never fade away.

What do you think about stripes? What are you favorite striped pieces?
