Entering the Workforce: Wardrobe Essentials

Fresh out of college, building up that office appropriate wardrobe can get a bit expensive. Through 4 years of sorority life and multiple internships before landing my current full-time job, I think I’ve finally been able to master the art of dressing for a business casual setting. By building your wardrobe with lots of neutrals, blacks, grays, and whites, you can easily mix and match! Here are my top must-haves:

1 LOFT 3/4 Sleeve Cotton Cardigan. I like to have lots of cardigans to combat the cold office temps. Get plenty of colors to add a pop of brightness to an otherwise neutral outfit.
2 J. Crew Silk Sleeveless Blouse to wear tucked into a skirt/under a cardigan.
3 H&M Knee-length Skirt. This is a nice affordable option. I recommend getting several of these in all the neutral colors.
4 Tahari Bateau Neck Sheath Dress. The easiest option to throw on the in morning. No matching required.
5 Clarks Tempt Appeal Nude Leather Pump. I like these because they simple and not too high, which is important in the office. Plus, they are amazingly comfortable.
6 H&M Stretch Shirt. These are a staple. Find a style/brand you love and buy lots!
7 H&M Suit Pants Slim Fit. I like the slim fit styles the best, and these are a nice an affordable option. You never want to be short on slacks!
8 Michael Kors Chronograph Horn Watch (discontinued but I’ve posted a link where you can still find it). I’ve had this watch for years, and I wear it everyday. You want to be able to tell the time without looking at your phone all the time.
9 J.Crew Cutaway Linen Jacket. For more formal days, this is a great lightweight option, and a great investment!
10 Tory Burch Nicki Leather Flat. For comfortable and chic daily footwear.

What are your office essentials??
