Easter Egg-citement

IMG_2028IMG_2025Pretty pastels. Sweet treats. Bunnies with fluffy cotton tails. What’s not to love? Easter is such a happy holiday. It’s symbolic of new life and new beginnings, but in my mind it also marks the real end of winter and the freshness of springtime. Each year, I look forward to the Easter bunny’s delivery of sweets and goodies (yes, he still comes to my parents house – and we love it!!), but Easter egg decorating is my absolute favorite tradition. Getting a little creative with a classic egg dyeing kit can yield some elegant results – perfect for Easter brunch decor.

Using rubber bands to separate the dyed and painted sections, I’m loving this pastel, gold and white combination. I started with one or two rubber bands on each hard-boiled egg. Then, I dipped a section into the egg dye for just a few seconds to keep the colors light. After waiting for the dye to dry, I painted the remaining section of egg with gold acrylic paint. Removing the rubber bands revealed these little gems!IMG_1973 IMG_2023 IMG_2027Get creative with some other fun egg decorating ideas from Brit + Co. here!
