Have you ever come across the most beautiful dress only to wear it once? It seemed so perfect for that special occasion, but you just couldn’t find the right time to wear it again. I’m not going to lie – that happens to me more than I’d like to admit. However, every once in a while I come across a dress that can be worn again and again. The piece I’m featuring today is one dress that just won’t quit my outfit rotations.

I originally featured this floral maxi dress back during my trip to St. Thomas but have since found it to work well on a variety of occasions.

Although the flowing nature of the dress works well for warmer weather, most recently this dress proved to be the perfect piece for a windy day in Newport. The extra material of a flowy dress actually provides a bit of warmth, plus the style pairs well with either a cardigan or a denim jacket for layering.

I say this dress just won’t quit because Free People made this same style available in more fall appropriate colors. The ivory version was available all summer, but the black version will carry through to fall particularly well. Most notably, Free People came out with the new deep red floral option that is definitely my favorite for transitioning from late summer into fall.

Although the green is my favorite for summer, I’m definitely eyeing the red (and lots of other reds) for fall.

How are you transitioning your summer style for the autumn months?
