Pretty Pink Hues for Spring

It may not come as a surprise to you that I love pretty pink hues and blush tones. There is nothing softer and more feminine than a pale neutral rose color. For a piece like a crew neck cable knit (that could really be considered a unisex piece), there’s no better way to make sure it has that feminine flair than choosing the right color. This cable knit in the color “lilac” is especially perfect for those transitional months between winter and spring. You’ve got a cozy medium weight sweater to keep your warm, but it’s in a soft, springy color to add a little brightness!

Ruffled Button Down

I’ve had my eye out for a ruffled collar button down, just like this one, for ages! Browsing my favorite shopping sites and window shopping every time I went to the mall, never yielded any results. But, one recent trip to the outlets, proved worth the trek when I stumbled across this striped blue ruffled shirt. I loved it so much, I picked it up in white too! It is the cutest when peeking out of a cable knit!

Favorite Denim

I can be pretty picky when it comes to denim. I never wore jeans throughout all of college and even for a few years after. Truth be told, the only time I ever wore them in college was for sorority recruitment. I’d had a few pairs of uncomfortable (too tight, too stiff) and a few pairs of too soft (saggy butt?) that I just gave up and avoided wearing jeans altogether. In recent years, however, I’ve found a few pairs that I actually love and jeans have become a regular stable in my wardrobe once again. I love these Madewell jeans, because they are a bit high waisted so everything is tucked away nicely, plus the drop hem (slightly frayed) is trendy and fun. The best part though is that these come in a variety of lengths. I’m 5’9″ and I went with “tall” and they are perfect (but they also have a “taller” option).

I love layering outfits like this! You look so cute. I also love your hair. I never would have thought to add a headband like that. It’s adorable. Very Blair Waldorf!

I have a question about the j crew factory warm beige flats…would you say they are more of a blush color than a beige? I’m considering purchasing these and wondering about the versatility of the color. Thank you!!

Hi Trish – that’s a great question! I actually liked them so much because they had a bit of a rosy tone to them. They really aren’t a true nude (which can sometimes be a bit flat) in that I think the color is still super versatile, but they definitely has a richer, rosier tone to them. That being said, they are definitely a great neutral for pairing with lots of spring outfits. Hope that helps! xx -L
