Little Blue Dress

Warm weather calls for easy dresses. Even though I am currently sitting here in chilly freezing New England, I am already looking forward to wearing this little blue tie-back dress again this summer. For hot and humid nights on St. Thomas, it was perfect for feeling light and comfortable. As a dress lover, I wear almost exclusively dresses these days – especially on vacation! To keep things from feeling monotonous, I am a proponent of switching up styles, lengths and colors. Since I have been gravitating more toward midi dresses lately, this little blue dress was the perfect piece to keep my vacation wardrobe fresh and diversified.

One major trend I’ve been seeing again and again for this year is shirting material worn in different ways. The great thing about this trend is that it is already in your closet! Aside from wearing dress shirts and button downs you already have in different ways, we’ll be seeing lots of new dresses and shirts made with typical shirting material but with a little extra design flare. With this dress, how cute is the tie back bow to keep the square neckline in place? The details are subtle and understated, but together they make the piece stand out.
