The beach is my number one choice for a vacation. I know I am not alone in this….there is an immediate calming effect the second I hear the waves crashing on the shore and can squish my toes in the sand. The salty sea breeze and the warm sun shining down is my kind of paradise (although I am not opposed to a winter visit to the beach either). When it comes to beach day attire, I love the fact that anything goes! This is especially true when at the beach in the Caribbean where everyone is from different cultures and has their own unique styles. I hate to admit it, but one of my favorite past times is people watching! I love to stroll down the beach (or the street) to see what everyone is wearing….something about real life street beach style speaks to me because it is so interesting to think about why people chose what they did to wear that day.
My taste for coverups hasn’t really ever changed. I will always love a loose fitting lightweight dress to throw on over my suit. For as long as I can remember, my mom and I always went to Old Navy for coverups, and so far they have never disappointed us! I love that this light white shift is lined so that I could wear it to lunch or out and about and my swimsuit does not show through too much.
My taste for swimsuits, on the other hand, has definitely changed in recent years! I used to gravitate toward a basic bikini, but I just don’t feel as great in one of those anymore. Lately, I love high waisted bottoms and one-pieces (like the one in this post!) because they just feel so much for stylish – not to mention more comfortable. From the second I saw this suit from 6 Shore Road by Pooja, I knew it would be my favorite of the season. I love the style of the wrap top combined with the flattering effect of the high waisted bottoms.
