A Little Sparkle

It was love at first sight…

…with these shoes! I bought them on super-sale recently. I was not expecting to come across such gems on a hectic weekday evening in the already sifted through sale section of J.Crew, but low and behold these sparkly d’Orsay flats in just my size popped right out at me.

Adding a little bit of sparkle to my outfits really makes me feel put together, feminine and polished. Whether it is a fun statement necklace, like the one I’m wearing here from Happiness Boutique, or some sparkly shoes, a little glam can make everything seem brighter and better!

Over the years I’ve been able to define my taste. I know what catches my eye and I know what I will actually wear versus something I like in theory but just isn’t practical for me. When I was young, I wore a dress and tights every single day. I refused to even wear jeans or any type of pants until probably the second grade. I have this vivid memory of a baby blue taffeta and white lace party dress that was my absolute favorite. I distinctly remember begging my mom to let me wear it to school most days. I knew what I liked – even then. Now a dress like that just isn’t quite practical for everyday wear, but incorporating fun, girly elements into my wardrobe rotation is how I like to bring my outfits to life these days.
