Traveling can be eye-opening, exhilarating and magical. Unfortunately; however, it can really take a toll on your skin. Between super dry airplanes, dry hotel rooms and general changes in routine, your skin is at risk of extreme dryness and/or breakouts.

Personally, my skin always feels so dry when I travel, and sometimes I even run into an unwanted breakout. I usually attribute breakouts to either stress or the local tap water that I’m using to wash my face.

Over the years, I’ve developed a small arsenal of products that help save my skin during travel. Know I’ve got my trusted products on hand, I can enjoy my trip and soak in all that is going on around me.

One // Micellar Water
I love this because it is very effective at taking off makeup! Plus, you can clean/refresh your skin anywhere – even airplane bathrooms – because it doesn’t require a sink! Just be sure to bring some cotton pads as well!

Two // Deep Hydration Face Cream
One of my biggest problems when traveling is dry skin. I love this cream because it provides very intense hydration, while still feeling lightweight on my skin. It’s also an efficient use of space since it can be used both at night and during the day. Oh and also – it smells amazing! If you love roses/rose water, you’ll love this!

Three //  Creamy Concealer
Between time zone changes, jet lag, or just not getting enough sleep because you want to maximize your time for sightseeing means dark circles are inevitable. I’ve used this creamy concealer for years because it provides the best coverage.

Four // Filtered Water Bottle
This one may seem like a wildcard, but just hear me out. Have you ever woken up in a hotel in the middle of the night absolutely parched? You’re cautious of the tap water, but you don’t necessarily need a pricey mini bar water bottle? Just fill up a filtered water bottle in the sink. The charcoal filter will get rid of all the nasties and you can give your body the drink it needs – worry free! Plus, you can bring an empty one of these through airport security and fill it up on the other side. Win-win!

Five // Ultra Rich Lip Balm
There’s nothing worse than chapped lips. It looks unattractive and feels even worse. Many lip balms wear off or absorb far too quickly, and therefore don’t provide good protection from the elements. I love this L’Occitane lip balm for its richness and for how long it lasts. It also makes a great base for lipstick.

Six // High Definition CC Crème
This stuff is actually magic. I’m not kidding – it’s like the glamour Snapchat filter in a tube. It evens skin tone, brightens complexion and just gives you an overall healthy glow. Plus, it has  SPF to keep your skin protected from the sun wherever you are! Now, you can look like the social media version of yourself in real life!
