5 Timeless Spring Trends (you already have in your closet)

Style blogger, Leigha Gardner, of The Lilac Press showcasing 5 timeless spring trends.

One common theme during this time of year is spring cleaning. For many of us, that means a major closet purge. Whether you will be putting winter sweaters away in storage to make room for spring dresses or donating unwanted pieces to charity, I am most certain that you will be making room in the closet for new pieces. I know I certainly am!

Before rushing out to shop for new spring attire that has currently filled all of our favorite store fronts, let’s take a minute to review what is already in our closets. Springtime fashion is, in general, timeless. Think: florals, pastels and breezy dresses. Many of the trends that were having a big moment last year and back again in full forced, as evidenced by many pieces that have been restocked by retailers for a second season since they were so successful last year. Here are five timeless spring trends to take advantage of this year.

ONE // Denim

Denim has always been trendy, but last year I really jumped on the trend. Having had a love-hate relationship with denim until more recently, I’ve finally come around and added a few more denim pieces to my closet. I’m a fan of denim jackets, but you’ll most certainly be seeing denim skirts and other pieces as well.

TWO // Floral dresses

Floral dresses are a classic piece for women everywhere. There is no better feeling then donning an easy flowy dress in a feminine floral pattern, and spring is the best time to do so.

THREE // Espadrilles

Espadrilles had a major moment last year (I’ve been wearing this pair nonstop since I got them last year), and this season has even more options in varying heights of flats and wedges.

FOUR // Simple white dresses

Who says you can’t wear white before Memorial Day? I say, be a rule breaker and throw on your favorite white dress as soon as the weather allows.

FIVE // Blush tones

Have you been seeing articles lately about Millennial Pink? This aesthetically pleasing color has been infiltrating all areas of fashion (for both men and women) and interior (and exterior) design. I don’t hate it, and I extra thrilled to know it’s here to stay.

Great look. I’m really liking the blush tones this spring as well. Love your floral dress, perfect for Spring/Summer. Those sunglasses are very striking! They look great on you.
